Sommer, Herbst, Winter – Tragetaschen im Jahreszeiten-Check

Summer, autumn, winter – carrier bags in the season check

Why I wear different things for each season

For a long time, I believed that a dog carrier worked equally well year-round—until I was out walking my Maltese on a hot July day and we both came home drenched in sweat.
Likewise, I stood there shivering in the winter while my dog didn't really feel comfortable in the thin sling.
Today I know: choosing a dog carrier should be based on the season. And that makes walks much more pleasant for both of us.

Summer – Light, airy and breathable

In the warmer months, breathability is key.

  • Choice of material: Cotton, linen or mesh ensure that air can circulate.

  • Color choice: Light colors heat up less.

  • Shape: A lightweight dog sling provides close body contact without getting too warm.

  • Extra tip: The Pawble dog carrier in a summer version is lightweight, well-ventilated, and still safe.

In summer, I only carry my dog when it's really necessary—for example, on hot asphalt that could burn his paws.

Autumn – flexibility is required

Autumn is capricious: cool in the morning, warm at midday, damp in the evening.

  • Choice of material: Water-repellent blended fabric protects against drizzle.

  • Interior: A light lining is often enough to keep you warm.

  • Functionality: Bags with additional compartments for rain capes or snacks are worth their weight in gold.

I love the Pawble dog sling version with the removable inner lining – this allows me to react spontaneously to temperature changes.

Winter – Warm and protected

Cold temperatures, snow and wind are a real challenge for small dogs.

  • Choice of material: Thickly lined dog carriers with soft inner fabric provide warmth.

  • Additional protection: A hood or windproof cover is helpful.

  • How to carry: In winter, I often carry my dog for longer because he gets cold quickly.

For me, the Pawble dog carrier in winter is like a portable dog house – warm, cozy, and safe.

What you should pay attention to regardless of the season

  • Safety leash: Prevents the dog from jumping out.

  • Ergonomics: Padded straps protect your shoulders.

  • Fit: The dog should be able to sit or lie comfortably without feeling constricted.

  • Care: Washable or machine-washable materials save time.

My conclusion – wearing seasonally is worthwhile

Since I started choosing my dog carriers according to the season, our walks have been more relaxed – and my dog visibly feels more comfortable.
The Pawble dog carrier is the perfect solution for me because there are versions that are suitable for summer, autumn, and winter.
If you want to carry small dogs , you should not only pay attention to the design but also make sure the bag is appropriate for the season. Your four-legged friend will thank you—and you will, too.
